Walking/Rambling/Cycling
The dramatic Cornish coast path provides some of the most magnificent
and varied walking to be found anywhere, from the challenging rugged cliffs
of Crackington Haven to the quaint harbours and villages of Port Isaac
and Padstow.
Vivid and varied landscapes of many parishes can be enjoyed on the "Saints
Way" the ancient 30 mile route from Padstow to Fowey or the scenic Camel
trail, the old railway track from Padstow, runing along 17 miles of the
beautiful Camel valley and a haven for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers.
Golf/Horseriding/Tennis
Famous golf courses at St Enodoc, and Trevose with its 18 hole seaside
links and two 9 hole courses. Tresallyn stables offer great horseriding,
and for the energetic tennis courts in Padstow and the Pickwick Inn.
Surfing/Extreme
sports
Surf lessons at Harlyn and Trevone, with plenty of places to hire boards
and wetsuits, for the more adventurous, the Extreme sports academy at
Watergate bay teaches kite surfing etc.
Adventure Parks
Crealey adventure park caters for all ages and is a holiday "must" for
most families.
Houses/Gardens
Mild winters bring an early spring when many of the National Trust gardens
such as Lanhydrock, and the privately owned houses of Pencarrow and Prideaux
look their best, with magnificent Camelias and Rhodedendrons, whilst the
Eden project have a spectacular spring bulb mania season.
Deepsea fishing/Sailing/Speedboat
trips
The unspoilt medieval fishing port of Padstow, with it's warren of narrow
streets and slatehung pastle coloured houses offer a choice of fishing
trips, speedboat rides and pleasure trips to see seals, puffins or even
dolphins if you are lucky. The Rock sailing school is a ferry boat ride
away across the estuary at Rock.
