Food :
For delicious quality Cornish food, grown and produced locally, the newly opened
Padstow Farm shop at Crugmere is fantastic. All beef and lamb is raised on
their farm and most of the fresh herbs and vegetables come from the Victorian
walled kitchen garden at Prideaux place. Warm bread and pasties are delivered
from the local bakery and there is a mouth-watering selection of local
cheeses, worth trying especially the Cornish Yarg.
For the local catch of
the day, Padstow fishmongers are the obvious choice.
Visit the regular Thursday morning Farmers and W.I markets in Wadebridge, for
some delicious home cooked cakes, scones and proper Cornish pasties, perfect
for summer picnics. Finest clotted cream for your scones is made locally by
Williams Dairy. Also in Wadebridge the Kernow Harvest shop has some delicious
chocolate amongst their Cornish fare.
Drink :
Camel Valley vineyard produces some award winning wines, and have regular
wine tours and tasting sessions, a good chance to try their famous "Cornwall
Brut"!
For all other groceries there is a Tesco in both Padstow and Wadebridge. Many
of our guests find their delivery service works quite well, and opt to have
their groceries delivered direct to Byways on their arrival on holiday.
Cornish Crafts:
The Kingsley Centre at Fraddon has a terrific selection of Cornish crafts,
pottery and paintings etc. all brought together under one roof.
